ROLE OVERVIEW

The Project Engineer will support end-to-end project execution, technical documentation, and document control activities within a biopharmaceutical engineering environment. This role suits a motivated, detail-oriented individual looking to build a long-term career in the biopharmaceutical industry. You will coordinate across multidisciplinary teams, manage key engineering deliverables, and help ensure compliance with safety, quality, and GMP standards throughout the project lifecycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Planning, Initiation and Execution

• Plan, track, and report on project schedules, milestones, and budgets to support on-time, within-scope delivery
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to drive timely completion of project milestones
• Support change control activities as part of project initiation and scope management
• Draft and support execution of commissioning and qualification test protocols, including IQ and OQ documentation, in line with site C&Q standards, and help maintain audit and inspection readiness
• Support site works to ensure alignment with engineering specifications and regulatory requirements
• Identify and help resolve technical and on-site issues during project execution
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and engineers to support smooth project execution
• Monitor work quality and support adherence to safety and regulatory requirements
• Track project progress and help prepare status reports for management review
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and propose practical engineering solutions
• Support ad-hoc capital project assignments as needed, including feasibility studies and scope development

Engineering Data & List Management

• Maintain and update equipment lists, ensuring accurate records of equipment tags, descriptions, and status
• Maintain and update piping/instrument line lists, ensuring alignment with design documents and as-built records
• Coordinate with engineering disciplines to ensure data integrity and consistency across project documentation
• Support use of engineering data in design reviews, procurement, and commissioning phases

Document Control

• Support document control activities including registration, numbering, classification, version control, and distribution
• Help maintain document registers and master document lists
• Support compliance with document control procedures and site naming conventions
• Support document audits, reviews, and handover activities at project closeout

REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, Industrial, or related discipline)
• Entry-level to early-career experience in project coordination, engineering, or document control
• Site or project experience in an engineering environment; GMP or pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical exposure is a strong advantage
• Experience supporting project coordination and site activities
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical documents
• Familiarity with equipment and line list management is an advantage
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• A genuine interest in building a long-term career in biopharmaceutical engineering
