About the role

A car checker in a port terminal environment inspects roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) vehicles, verifies documentation, and documents physical conditions during loading and unloading operations.

Job Description

• Inspecting cars, trucks, and heavy machinery for exterior, interior, or structural damage prior to loading onto vessels or after discharge

• Recording vehicle identification numbers (VIN), matching manifest details, and noting any discrepancies or missing accessories

• Ensuring vehicles meet port and vessel safety guidelines, particularly for fuel status or specialized handling (such as electric vehicles)

• Working alongside driving crews (car jockeys/stowage teams) and vessel officers to ensure safe and orderly transit on and off the ship decks

• Inspect vehicles and verify documentation in port terminal operations.
