Role Description The Buyer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bayan Lepas. This role is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services to support automation projects and manufacturing operations. Daily tasks include evaluating supplier quotations, preparing purchase orders, monitoring delivery schedules, and maintaining accurate purchasing records. The Buyer collaborates closely with engineering, production, and inventory teams to ensure material availability, manage costs, and resolve supply issues. The role also involves assessing supplier performance, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and complying with company policies and quality standards.


Qualifications

  • Strong procurement and purchasing skills, including vendor sourcing, quotation evaluation, and negotiation.
  • Ability to work with bills of materials, understand technical specifications, and coordinate closely with engineering and production teams.
  • Solid planning, inventory coordination, and cost management skills to ensure timely and cost-effective material availability.
  • Proficiency in using ERP or purchasing systems, as well as standard office software (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing).
  • Effective communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills, with the ability to build and maintain supplier relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing or automation industries and familiarity with quality and compliance standards are advantageous.
