About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading global investment institution, is seeking an experienced Windows & Private Cloud Operations Lead to provide technical leadership across its enterprise infrastructure platforms.

This is a senior hands-on engineering role responsible for driving platform reliability, modernization and operational excellence across Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware private cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments within a highly regulated enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise Windows and private cloud operations, defining technical standards and platform strategy.
• Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents and problem management.
• Manage enterprise platforms including Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, VMware, Citrix and related technologies.
• Drive major infrastructure upgrades, migrations, platform resilience and operational improvements.
• Partner with infrastructure, security and application teams to deliver secure, scalable and highly available enterprise platforms.
• Champion automation, operational excellence and continuous service improvement across enterprise infrastructure.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience managing enterprise Windows Server infrastructure within large enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on expertise across Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, VMware, Citrix, SCCM/MECM, SCOM, PKI and PowerShell.
• Proven experience leading Windows Server upgrades, migration programmes and infrastructure modernisation initiatives.
• Experience with backup, disaster recovery, ITSM, ServiceNow and enterprise change management.
• Experience managing outsourced service providers and acting as the senior technical escalation point.
• Exposure to automation (PowerShell/Ansible), cloud platforms (AWS/Azure) and security frameworks such as CIS or NIST is advantageous.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
