Senior Accounts Executive

Location: SOHO KL, HQ

Employment Type: Full-Time

Monthly Salary: RM 6,000 – RM 8,000 (Commensurate with experience)

We are looking for a meticulous, experienced and proactive Senior Accounts Executive to lead day-to-day accounting operations, strengthen financial controls and support strategic financial decision-making across our brands.

Financial Accounting & Reporting

•         Manage full set of accounts, including general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable.

•         Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements.

•         Perform month-end and year-end closing activities.

•         Ensure financial reports comply with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and statutory requirements.

•         Review and consolidate accounts across multiple entities within the Group.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

•         Oversee processing of invoices, payments and collections.

•         Monitor aging reports and follow up on outstanding payables and receivables.

•         Ensure accuracy and timeliness of vendor and customer reconciliations.

•         Review payment runs and approve disbursements in line with company policy.

Reconciliation & Internal Controls

•         Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

•         Conduct periodic balance sheet reconciliations and account reviews.

•         Strengthen and enforce internal controls, policies and SOPs.

•         Identify and address accounting discrepancies or irregularities.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Analysis

•         Assist in preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.

•         Monitor actual performance against budget and highlight variances.

•         Provide financial analysis and insights to support management decision-making.

•         Support cost control and profitability analysis across brands and outlets.

Tax & Statutory Compliance

•         Prepare and submit SST, withholding tax and other statutory filings.

•         Liaise with tax agents, auditors and company secretaries.

•         Ensure compliance with LHDN, SSM and other regulatory requirements.

•         Support year-end audit and coordinate with external auditors.

Team Coordination & Supervision

•         Guide and review the work of accounts and finance executives/assistants.

•         Work closely with HR, Purchasing, Operations and Sales teams on financial matters.

•         Support onboarding and training of junior finance staff.

•         Act as a key point of escalation for accounting queries.

Process Improvement & Systems

•         Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and reporting.

•         Support implementation and optimisation of accounting/ERP systems.

•         Assist in digitalising and automating routine finance workflows.

•         Maintain proper documentation, filing and audit trails.

We are looking for someone who is:

•         Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, MIA or equivalent) is an advantage.

•         At least 5 years of relevant accounting/finance experience, with prior experience handling full set of accounts.

•         Strong knowledge of Malaysian accounting standards, tax and statutory requirements.

•         Meticulous, analytical and highly organised with strong attention to detail.

•         Able to work independently, meet deadlines and manage multiple entities.

•         Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems (e.g. SQL Accounting, AutoCount, Xero or similar).

•         Prior experience supervising or mentoring junior finance staff is an advantage.
