Job Summary
The Assistant Manager (Commercial Projects) is responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and management of commercial healthcare projects while overseeing the operations of assigned in-house corporate clinics. The role ensures projects and healthcare services are delivered efficiently, within budget, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
The incumbent will oversee daily clinic operations, manage client relationships, coordinate healthcare programmes, support business development initiatives, and ensure operational excellence across assigned projects. This role requires close collaboration with internal departments, healthcare professionals, corporate clients, vendors, and regulatory authorities to deliver high-quality healthcare services and achieve organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Commercial Project Planning & Execution
- Support the planning, coordination, implementation, and execution of commercial healthcare projects.
- Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate project activities across multiple departments to ensure successful delivery.
- Monitor project milestones and ensure deliverables are completed within agreed timelines.
- Support new business initiatives, healthcare service expansion, and strategic partnerships.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and project outcomes.
2. In-House Clinic Operations & Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned in-house corporate clinics.
- Ensure smooth and efficient patient flow from registration, consultation, treatment, dispensing, and discharge.
- Maintain high standards of operational efficiency, patient safety, and service quality.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, Ministry of Health (MOH), CKAPS, DOSH, and other applicable healthcare regulations.
- Monitor clinic performance and implement operational improvements where required.
- Coordinate clinic maintenance, equipment servicing, and facility management.
- Ensure clinic cleanliness, hygiene, infection prevention, and safety standards are consistently maintained.
- Support the implementation of new clinical services and operational initiatives.
3. Corporate Healthcare Services
- Coordinate and oversee the delivery of corporate healthcare services.
- Ensure services are delivered according to client requirements and contractual obligations.
- Coordinate onsite healthcare activities and deployments.
4. Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the liaison for assigned corporate clients on operational matter.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, healthcare partners, insurers, TPAs, government agencies, and stakeholders.
- Conduct client meetings, operational review sessions, and site visits.
- Address client enquiries, complaints, and service improvement opportunities promptly.
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and service excellence.
- Identify opportunities to expand existing client accounts and healthcare services.
5. Business Development & Commercial Support
- Prepare quotations, proposals, tender submissions, presentations, and commercial documentation.
- Support negotiations with clients, vendors, and healthcare partners.
- Assist in identifying new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
- Support marketing and promotional initiatives for healthcare services.
6. Manpower Planning & Team Coordination
- Coordinate manpower planning for assigned clinics and healthcare projects.
- Prepare staff duty rosters and deployment schedules.
- Monitor attendance, leave, and staffing requirements.
- Ensure adequate manpower coverage for clinic operations and onsite programmes.
- Coordinate recruitment requirements with Human Resources.
- Support staff orientation, coaching, and operational training.
- Foster teamwork and a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
7. Inventory, Purchasing & Asset Management
- Oversee purchasing activities for medications, medical consumables, vaccines, equipment, and clinic supplies.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels and minimise stock shortages.
- Conduct periodic stock takes and investigates discrepancies.
- Monitor product expiry dates and ensure proper inventory rotation.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely procurement and delivery.
- Ensure company assets and medical equipment are properly maintained.
8. Revenue Performance & Reporting
- Monitor operational and revenue performance of assigned clinics and commercial projects.
- Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly operational and revenue reports.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs), including:
o Revenue performance
o Patient volume
o Service utilisation
o Productivity
o Client satisfaction
- Analyse operational trends and recommend improvement strategies.
- Monitor billing accuracy and support invoice reconciliation where required.
9. Vendor & Service Provider Management
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, laboratories, diagnostic centres, and healthcare partners.
- Monitor vendor performance and service quality.
- Ensure contractual obligations and service level agreements are achieved.
- Support procurement evaluations and vendor selection.
10. Risk Management & Quality Assurance
- Identify operational and project risks and implement mitigation plans.
- Ensure all healthcare services meet company quality standards.
- Support quality improvement programmes and internal audits.
- Monitor incident reporting, corrective actions, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
11. Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all commercial projects and healthcare operations comply with applicable healthcare regulations.
- Monitor compliance with Ministry of Health (MOH), CKAPS, DOSH, local authority, and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate licensing, inspections, and accreditation activities.
- Maintain proper operational documentation and regulatory records.
12. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate project and operational documentation.
- Prepare management reports, dashboards, presentations, and business updates.
- Maintain records of quotations, contracts, operational reports, client correspondence, and project documentation.
- Ensure timely submission of reports required by Management.
Qualifications
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Pharmacy, Nursing, Life Sciences, Project Management, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in healthcare operations, commercial projects, project management, or corporate healthcare services.
- Experience managing healthcare facilities, clinics, or occupational health programmes is an advantage.
- Experience in client management, business development, and commercial operations is preferred.
Working Requirements
- Willing to travel extensively within Malaysia.
- Possess a valid driving licence and own transportation.
- Able to work flexible hours based on operational and project requirements.
- Willing to work evenings, weekends, and Public Holidays when required.
- Available to attend client meetings, healthcare events, project implementations, emergency operational support, and site visits outside normal office hours.
- Able to support multiple projects and clinic locations simultaneously.
Other Responsibilities
The Assistant Manager (Commercial Projects) shall perform any other duties,
responsibilities, or special assignments as directed by Management from time to time,
including but not limited to:
- Leading strategic healthcare projects and operational transformation initiatives.
- Supporting mergers, acquisitions, due diligence, and business expansion activities.
- Establishing new healthcare facilities or corporate clinic operations.
- Participating in tenders, contract negotiations, and commercial discussions.
- Supporting organisational initiatives that contribute to the growth, operational excellence, and strategic objectives of Mudah Healthcare
Pay: From RM5,000.00 per hour
