Position Summary
The EHS Senior Specialist will drive the implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the company's Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) programs across operations. This role ensures compliance with regulatory and company EHS standards, supports incident investigation and risk management, and fosters a strong safety culture across the organisation. The position requires close collaboration with operations, project teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies, and may involve periodic travel to site/offshore locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain the company's EHS management systems in accordance with relevant standards (e.g. ISO 45001, ISO 14001) and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, review, and update EHS policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Track and report on regulatory compliance status, licences, and permits, ensuring timely renewals and submissions.
- Maintain accurate EHS records, logs, and databases in line with statutory and company requirements.
Risk Management & Assurance
- Conduct regular EHS audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance across operations and project sites.
- Consult, advise, and provide EHS technical support to operations, projects, and contractors.
- Participate in EHS meetings, contractor engagement sessions, and management reviews.
- Support the development and review of loss prevention and emergency response plans.
Incident Management
- Lead or support incident investigations, identifying root causes and driving corrective/preventive actions.
- Prepare EHS performance reports, incident statistics, and KPI dashboards for management review.
- Ensure timely reporting of incidents to relevant internal stakeholders and regulatory authorities as required.
Training & Culture
- Design and deliver EHS training and awareness programmes for employees and contractors.
- Promote a strong safety culture through engagement initiatives, campaigns, and continuous improvement programmes.
- Act as a field representative for EHS assurance during site or offshore visits, where required.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety & health, Environmental Science/Engineering, or a related field; relevant professional certification (e.g. NIOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) an advantage.
- 5–8 years of EHS experience, ideally within oil & gas, energy, or a similarly regulated industrial environment.
- Strong working knowledge of local EHS regulations and international standards (ISO 45001, ISO 14001).
- Experience conducting audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Valid certifications for site/offshore work (e.g. medical fitness certificate, safety passport/BOSIET) may be required depending on role scope.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organisation.
- Willingness to travel to site/offshore locations as required.
Pay: Up to RM22,000.00 per month
