We are seeking a dedicated, responsible, and experienced Store Assistant to join our wholesale commodities business. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily store and warehouse operations, ensuring efficient inventory control, accurate stock handling, and timely order fulfilment while maintaining a safe and organised work environment

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, verify, and store incoming goods according to company procedures.

• Pick, pack, label, and prepare orders accurately for delivery or collection.

• Load and unload goods using appropriate manual handling techniques and equipment.

• Arrange, stack, and organise inventory to maximise storage efficiency.

• Conduct regular stock counts, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation.

• Monitor stock levels and report shortages, damaged goods, or discrepancies to management.

• Maintain accurate inventory records and update stock movement documentation.

• Ensure proper storage and handling of products to prevent damage or loss.

• Prepare goods for shipment and coordinate with suppliers, transport providers, and customers.

• Maintain cleanliness, housekeeping, and safety standards within the warehouse and store.

• Operate warehouse equipment and tools safely and efficiently.

• Assist with receiving supplier deliveries and verifying delivery documents.

• Support daily warehouse operations and perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

• Comply with all company policies, workplace safety regulations, and operational procedures.
  

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience as a Store Assistant, Warehouse

Assistant, Storekeeper, or in a similar inventory or warehouse role.

• No formal educational qualification is required.

• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and stock

control procedures.

• Ability to receive, inspect, store, and dispatch goods accurately.

• Physically fit and capable of lifting and moving heavy items safely.

• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and also as part of a team.

• Good organisational skills with strong attention to detail.

• Honest, reliable, responsible, and punctual.

• Able to work under pressure and meet operational deadlines.

• Willing to work overtime, weekends, public holidays, and shifts whenever required

by operational needs.

• Familiarity with warehouse safety practices and manual handling procedures.

• Basic computer knowledge for inventory recording is an advantage.
