We're looking for a detail-oriented and analytical System Specialist to join our team in Singapore. In this role, you will provide comprehensive Unix/Linux system support, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability of our infrastructure. You will be responsible for system administration, troubleshooting, and maintaining our Unix/Linux environments while working efficiently to resolve technical issues and implement system improvements.

• Install, configure, and maintain Unix/Linux operating systems across multiple servers and environments
• Perform system troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify and resolve technical issues in a timely manner
• Manage user accounts, access controls, and security permissions following organizational policies
• Monitor system performance, analyze logs, and optimize system resources for efficiency
• Execute patch management and system updates while minimizing downtime
• Develop and maintain shell scripts to automate routine administrative tasks
• Provide technical support to end-users and internal teams regarding Unix/Linux systems
• Document system configurations, procedures, and changes in an organized manner
• Collaborate with other IT team members to implement infrastructure improvements
• Respond to and resolve incidents following established protocols and service level agreements
• Perform hardware troubleshooting and coordinate with vendors when necessary
• Ensure compliance with security standards and organizational policies

Qualifications

**Required Skills and Experience:**

• Proven experience administering Unix/Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or Debian)
• Strong proficiency in shell scripting (Bash, Ksh, or similar)
• Solid understanding of system performance tuning and optimization
• Experience with user and access management in Unix/Linux environments
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve system issues analytically
• Knowledge of patch management and system update procedures
• Familiarity with log analysis and system monitoring tools
• Basic understanding of network configuration and connectivity
• Strong organizational and documentation skills
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks

**Preferred Skills and Experience:**

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM, or Hyper-V)
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, or Chef)
• Experience with container technologies (Docker or Kubernetes)
• Understanding of security hardening and compliance requirements
• Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery procedures
• Familiarity with IT service management (ITIL) principles
• Experience with IT ticketing and asset management systems
