Project Engineer – M&E Projects (Private & Government Sectors)

Roles & Responsibilities

We are looking for a proactive and experienced Project Engineer to manage and coordinate Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) projects involving Private and other government agencies. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing project execution, coordinating site activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, and delivering projects on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily site activities for private maintenance contracts and construction projects.
• Able to read & Draw AutoCAD.
• Manage project schedules, manpower deployment, subcontractors, and resources to ensure timely project completion.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, government agencies, and internal departments to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor project progress and prepare regular site reports and progress updates.
• Prepare material requisitions, coordinate procurement, and ensure timely delivery of materials to site.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including work schedules, inspection records, and reports.
• Prepare and review Risk Assessments (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Method Statements (MOS), and other safety documentation.
• Ensure all site works comply with PUB, BCA, HDB, MOM, and project safety requirements.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor work quality, safety compliance, and project progress.
• Coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, and project handovers.
• Attend site meetings, progress meetings, and coordination meetings with clients and consultants.
• Resolve technical issues and provide engineering support to site supervisors and subcontractors.
• Ensure project quality complies with ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 Management System requirements.
• Support internal and external audits and implement corrective and preventive actions where necessary.
• Promote a strong safety culture by conducting toolbox meetings and Safety Time-Out sessions.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Management.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in M&E projects, preferably involving PUB or other government sector projects.
• Good knowledge of PUB, BCA, HDB, and MOM regulations and safety requirements.
• Familiarity with Risk Assessment (RA), Safe Work Procedures (SWP), Method Statements (MOS), and Permit-to-Work systems.
• Experience in project coordination, site supervision, and contractor management.
• Strong technical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project documentation.
• Possess a valid Singapore Class 3 Driving License.
• Able to work on shift schedules, including weekends and public holidays when required.
• Able to travel and work at project sites across Singapore (island-wide).
• Relevant Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) certifications (e.g., Work at Height, Confined Space, or other MOM-recognized safety courses) will be an added advantage.
