Job Summary

You will lead and coordinate engineering activities for EPC, plant modification, and construction projects, ensuring technical requirements are met and project progress is monitored to support successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical and commercial research to identify project risks, opportunities, and solutions for feasibility and front-end engineering studies
  • Review client specifications, scope of work, and technical requirements to integrate them into engineering and construction activities
  • Establish and maintain project engineering documents, drawings, specifications, and correspondence in coordination with Project Manager and Document Controller
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, engineering, procurement, subcontractors, and site personnel to clarify technical requirements and project execution details
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings and documents including P&IDs, PFDs/PEFS, isometric drawings, and layouts to ensure design compliance
  • Prepare and coordinate technical submissions, method statements, risk assessments, inspection and test plans, and lifting plans for project approval
  • Execute engineering activities for EPC, plant modification, maintenance, fabrication, and construction projects to meet project objectives
  • Identify technical issues, constructability challenges, and interface conflicts, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement solutions
  • Support material take-off, quantity estimation, and selection of materials and equipment to assist in project cost estimation
  • Prepare and raise Purchase Requisitions for project materials, equipment, tools, and consumables, coordinating with Procurement and suppliers
  • Monitor project progress against approved schedules and assist in preparing project schedules, look-ahead schedules, S-curves, and progress reports
  • Compile daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports covering manpower, materials, construction status, and key project issues
  • Coordinate site activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, risk assessments, and project requirements
  • Collaborate with site teams on work permits, toolbox meetings, gas testing, and confined-space entry procedures as applicable
  • Support Project Manager / Construction Manager in managing technical, commercial, and site-related project matters
  • Travel and deploy to various project sites as required to support project execution

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related engineering discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in process, oil & gas, petrochemical, chemical, energy, or industrial plant industries
  • Experience in EPC, plant construction, maintenance, fabrication, piping, mechanical equipment, or tanks projects
  • Ability to understand and interpret engineering drawings and documents including P&IDs, PFDs/PEFS, isometric, and general arrangement drawings
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or equivalent drafting software
  • Ability to develop and monitor project schedules including S-curves, look-ahead schedules, and progress reports
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with Microsoft Project and Primavera P6 is preferred
  • Good understanding of project execution, construction methodology, material procurement, and site coordination
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills to coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within project teams
  • Willingness to work in demanding project/site environments and meet deadlines
  • Willingness and physical ability to work in industrial plant and confined-space environments
  • Willingness to work 5.5 days per week and be based at project sites as required
