About the role

The successful candidate will be part of the IFRS 17 reporting and reconciliation team, supporting the monthly closing process for insurance entities in Singapore.

Key responsibilities

• Support the monthly closing process for insurance entities in Singapore
• Develop and configure reports for financial statement disclosure purposes in accordance with applicable accounting standards
• Ensure consistent application and alignment of IFRS 17 reporting standards, methodologies, and governance frameworks across the GE Group
• Partner with the Aptitude support team to manage system change requests, including impact assessment, testing, and implementation activities
• Perform and support the reconciliation of IFRS17 reporting system outputs, ledger postings and related IFRS17 accounts reconciliation
• Perform analysis of business results and outputs from the IFRS 17 reporting system to ensure reasonableness of numbers
• Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, and accelerate month-end closing timelines
• Take accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and take appropriate steps to mitigate the risks
• Maintain awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company
• Highlight any potential concerns or risks and proactively shares best risk management practices
• Assist in other ad-hoc assignments as and when required

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent professional qualifications
• 4 to 6 years of relevant working experience, with experience in audit firms
• Good knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (International) and experience in the insurance industry would be an advantage
• Strong willingness to learn
• Able to work independently and under pressure to meet project timelines
• Highly motivated and committed
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, meticulous and detailed
• Strong team player with good communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork
• Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes
