Job Description

Responsibilities

Position Overview:

The Production Engineer will be responsible for executing and preparing assembly production tasks related to New Model Introductions, Minor Change Projects, and continuous plant/equipment improvements across two manufacturing facilities (SAP & BRP). The role involves both strategic planning and operational execution to ensure seamless transition from design to mass production, maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and safety.


Strategic Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and execution of assembly production tasks for new vehicle models and minor modifications, ensuring readiness for production launch. Coordinate cross-functional teams to align on timelines, resources, and quality standards.
  • Identify areas for process optimization and equipment upgrades within both plants and production lines. Develop improvement plans to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of efficient production layouts, workflows, and equipment configurations to support current and future production demands.


Operational Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed layout studies, analyze current line feedback, and develop process flow diagrams. Prepare technical documentation including process sheets, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Define equipment specifications based on process requirements, manage inquiries and tendering, oversee design checks, and coordinate equipment purchase, installation, and commissioning.
  • Coordinate the ordering of sample parts, oversee equipment installation, robot programming (teaching), and conduct initial buyoffs such as Kanban system validation.
  • Conduct comprehensive equipment and process validation through line trials, troubleshooting, and adjustments to ensure readiness for SOP (Start of Production).
  • Provide technical support during the initial production phase, addressing issues promptly, and ensuring the production line stabilizes efficiently.


Requirements:


  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, to facilitate communication with international teams and documentation.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Design capabilities using AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and CATIA for process and layout design.
  • At least 1 year of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive or similar assembly industries.
  • Familiarity with production processes, equipment sourcing, and line setup.
