We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Junior Drafter cum GIS Mapper to join our environmental consultancy team. In addition to conventional CAD drafting and GIS mapping, this role will involve processing data and imagery captured using drones (UAVs) to produce accurate topographic maps, 3D models, and site assessments. Key Responsibilities – Including Drone/UAV Elements: - Prepare Technical Drawings: Prepare environmental site layouts, project boundaries, mitigation plans, and other technical drawings using CAD software. - Process Drone Data: Manage and process raw drone imagery to produce orthomosaics, Digital Elevation Models (DEM/DTM), and terrain contours. - Produce GIS Maps: Create, update, and maintain GIS maps for environmentally sensitive areas such as forests, rivers, wetlands, and land-use areas. - Integrate Field Data: Incorporate Ground Control Point (GCP) coordinates, GPS data, and environmental sampling data into GIS and mapping systems. - Prepare Report Visuals: Produce high-quality topographic maps, site plans, and 3D models based on drone data for Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports and other environmental studies. - Support Field Activities: Assist the environmental and drone teams in collecting, validating, and managing spatial and field data. - Data Management: Organise and maintain CAD, GIS, drone imagery, spatial databases, and other project-related mapping data. Requirements & Qualifications: - Education: Diploma or Degree in Geomatics, GIS, Environmental Science, Engineering, Surveying, or a related field. - Experience: Fresh graduates or candidates with 1–2 years of relevant experience are encouraged to apply. Candidates with university projects, internships, or practical experience involving GIS, CAD, surveying, or drone/UAV applications will have an added advantage. - CAD & GIS Software: Basic proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS Pro, or QGIS. - Drone Processing Software: Familiarity with drone image-processing software such as DJI Terra, Pix4D, or Agisoft Metashape will be an added advantage. - Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of photogrammetry, coordinate reference systems, spatial data, GIS analysis, and geospatial data integration. - Attention to Detail: Strong attention to accuracy and quality, particularly when handling spatial and technical data. - Teamwork: Able to work effectively with environmental consultants, GIS personnel, survey teams, and drone pilots during field and office activities. - Technology-Oriented: Strong interest in modern mapping, GIS, drone/UAV technology, and geospatial applications. - Other: Willing to travel to project sites and participate in fieldwork when required.
