Job Summary
The Kindergarten Care Assistant Centre Supervisor supports daily centre operations, leads the team in the Centre Supervisor’s absence, and ensures a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for kindergarten children to thrive.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily centre operations and supervise staff to maintain high standards of care and programme quality in the absence of the Centre Supervisor
- Provide coaching, guidance, and support to Kindergarten Programme Staff and Support Staff to enhance team performance and child engagement
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and supervision of all children by enforcing organisational policies and regulatory requirements
- Maintain a clean, organised, and conducive learning environment that supports children’s development and safety
- Build and sustain positive relationships with children, parents, school partners, and external stakeholders through clear and effective communication
- Coordinate staff scheduling, deployment, onboarding, and daily operational activities to ensure smooth centre functioning
- Monitor and enforce compliance with child safeguarding policies, licensing standards, and health and safety procedures
Required certifications
- At least L1 Trained
- SCCEC/ SCCEY/ACECCE/ Diploma in Early Childhood/ Higher Nitec in Early Childhood
- First Aid Certified (optional)
Other Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in preschool, kindergarten, or Kindergarten Care settings
- Supervisory experience in early childhood education environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within teams and with external stakeholders
- Physical ability to support children’s daily routines and classroom activities
- Organised, responsible, patient, and adaptable to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Passion for working with young children and supporting their holistic development
