City University Malaysia Hiring! Full Time Head of Programme - Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) in Selangor, Earn up to MYR 5,500 - Ricebowl

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the academic and operational management of the TESL programme.
• Develop, review, and enhance the programme curriculum in line with current educational trends, industry needs, and relevant quality standards.
• Ensure effective delivery of teaching, learning, assessment, and academic activities.
• Coordinate and support academic staff in teaching, research, professional development, and other academic activities.
• Monitor students’ academic performance, progression, and overall learning experience.
• Ensure programme documentation and academic quality assurance requirements are properly maintained.
• Coordinate programme reviews, audits, accreditation, and quality assurance activities.
• Build and maintain relationships with schools, educational institutions, industry partners, and relevant professional bodies.
• Promote research, publications, consultancy, and community engagement activities.
• Support student employability initiatives, including internship, practicum, and industry engagement.
• Participate in academic committees, meetings, and other institutional activities as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Faculty/University Management.

Requirements

• Minimum Master’s Degree in TESL, Applied Linguistics, Education, English Language Studies, Linguistics, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s Degree in TESL, Education, English Language, Linguistics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant academic/teaching experience, preferably within a higher education institution.
• Experience in programme coordination, academic leadership, curriculum development, or quality assurance will be an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of English language teaching, TESL pedagogy, curriculum development, and assessment.
• Good understanding of higher education quality assurance and accreditation requirements.
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
• Candidates with a PhD and/or relevant academic leadership experience will have an added advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
