Responsibilities

Role Summary

The Food & Beverage (F&B) Intern will gain hands-on, practical exposure to daily dining operations, floor management, guest relations, and inventory control by assisting the operational team with service delivery, stock management, and hygiene compliance.

This position offers structured mentorship designed to build practical skills in hospitality service excellence, Point-of-Sale (POS) operations, stock logistics, and corporate F&B standards.

Key Responsibilities & Learning Opportunities

1. Floor Operations & Guest Service

  • Guest Relations & Dining Support: Assist the front-of-house team with welcoming guests, taking orders, managing table arrangements, and resolving guest requests professionally.
  • Order & POS Management: Learn to operate Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, handle billings, and ensure precise order coordination between the floor, kitchen, and bar teams.
  • Service Quality Assurance: Help maintain floor presentation, speed of service, and food/beverage quality standards during operational hours.

2. Inventory Control & Hygiene Compliance

  • Stock & Inventory Management: Execute routine administrative tasks, including logging raw materials, updating beverage inventory, and receiving stock deliveries.
  • Hygiene & Food Safety Standards: Learn and enforce food handling guidelines, health and safety regulations, proper sanitation protocols, and corporate compliance rules.

3. Operational Support & Events

  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Assist supervisors in coordinating floor and kitchen workflows to optimize shift transitions and customer throughput.
  • Ad-Hoc Projects & Events: Support management with special dining events, menu launch setups, inventory audits, or operational research as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education & Eligibility

  • Current Qualification: Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Food & Beverage Management, Hospitality & Tourism, Culinary Arts, Hotel Management, or any related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Internship Period: Available for a minimum internship duration of 3 to 6 months.

Languages

  • English & Bahasa Malaysia: Professional working proficiency (spoken and written) is required for guest service, internal communications, and vendor interactions. (Mandarin proficiency is a plus for customer-facing requirements).

Competencies & Attributes

  • Operational Aptitude: Basic knowledge of food safety, dining service etiquette, and inventory handling principles.
  • Guest Focus & Aptitude: Strong communication skills, sharp attention to detail, adaptability during peak hours, and a hands-on, customer-centric attitude.
