Become a part of our growing Research & Development team, where your creativity and expertise will drive the development of next-generation rail dampers. We are seeking individuals with expertise in vibration control and tuned mass dampers who are passionate about this field. You will contribute to building a high-fidelity Finite Element model of a wheel-rail-contact system, designed to uncover the underlying mechanisms of rail squeal, while driving the development of next-generation rail dampers optimized for vibration and noise mitigation.

Location: Shatin, Hong Kong

Salary: HKD 25,000 to HK40,000.

Essential qualities

• M.Sc/M.Eng/M.Phil, PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or other related discipline
• Fresh graduates are also welcome
• Knowledge of vibration/acoustic control and tuned mass dampers, along with a genuine passion for acoustic and mechanical engineering
• Fluency in English communication

Desirable qualities

• Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), experience in multi-body dynamics modelling is preferred
• Training will be provided, but experience in any of the following areas is a plus:
• Acoustic interaction between rail and wheel
• Mechanism of tuned mass damper
• Proficiency in computer-aided 3D modelling (e.g., SOLIDWORKS)

Responsibilities

• Building a Finite Element model of the wheel-rail-contact system using FEA software
• Conducting and analysing various simulations on the constructed FE model
• Publishing technical reports and journal papers, and disseminating findings to local railway operators and manufacturers
