ABOUT THE ROLE

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, an industrial manufacturing solutions provider specialising in cable and wire harness assembly and box-build solutions.

This is a newly created business development role focused on identifying, engaging and converting new B2B customers. The successful candidate will build their own prospect pipeline, initiate conversations with potential customers, understand their manufacturing requirements, and work closely with the Sales Director and internal technical and operations teams to convert opportunities into new business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify and approach prospective B2B customers across relevant industrial sectors in Singapore and regional markets.
• Generate new leads through market research, cold calling, email outreach, networking, referrals, customer visits and industry events.
• Build relationships with decision-makers and understand each prospect’s production requirements, volumes, timelines and commercial priorities.
• Present the client’s cable and wire harness and box-build assembly capabilities clearly and confidently.
• Coordinate technical discussions, RFQs, costing, quotations and follow-up with the Sales Director and internal teams.
• Maintain an active sales pipeline, record prospect activity accurately, and provide regular progress updates and forecasts.
• Negotiate commercial terms within approved parameters and drive opportunities towards quotation, trial orders and new-customer conversion.
• Work towards agreed sales and revenue targets.

REQUIREMENTS

• Approximately one to three years of experience in B2B sales, business development, lead generation or customer acquisition is preferred.
• Energetic, outgoing and personable, with the confidence to initiate conversations, engage new contacts and build rapport quickly.
• Strong interest in hunting for new business and approaching prospects who have no prior relationship with the company.
• Experience in cable harnesses, box-build assemblies, electronics manufacturing, engineering or industrial solutions is advantageous but not essential.
• Self-driven and resilient, with the discipline to build a pipeline independently and follow through consistently.
• Clear communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Able to learn technical products and manufacturing processes and translate them into customer value.
• Organised and comfortable managing multiple prospects, RFQs, follow-ups and priorities.
• A diploma or degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or a related discipline is preferred. Relevant practical experience will also be considered.
Comfortable attending customer meetings, site visits and occasional business travel when required.
