This role will be based in Bukit Raja Industrial Park until April 2026 and subsequently will be based in Subang Aerotech Park from May 2026 onwards

The Technician (Welder - Aluminium) is responsible for performing precision welding tasks using TIG / GTAW processes on aircraft components and assemblies. This role ensures that welding work meets stringent quality and safety standards required in the aerospace MRO environment. In addition to specialized welding duties, the Technician (Welder) performs aerospace MRO technician tasks, supporting production, assembly, inspection, and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Welder Duties:

• Perform TIG/GTAW welding on heat exchanger components, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and aviation standards.

• Set up welding equipment, select appropriate tungsten electrodes, filler rods, and shielding gases.

• Inspect welds visually and dimensionally to ensure conformance to quality requirements; perform self-checks before submission for inspection.

• Prepare and clean components prior to welding and ensure post-weld cleaning as required.

• Support welding process improvement initiatives and suggest ways to enhance weld quality or productivity.

Technician Duties:

• Assemble, disassemble, clean, and inspect aircraft component parts and subassemblies.

• Handle and maintain tools, equipment, and fixtures according to procedures (e.g., TPM and tool control requirements).

• Perform accurate documentation in relevant systems (e.g., SAP, ePS, ACEOS).

• Adhere to work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality standards.

• Support production targets by maintaining efficiency, quality, and turnaround time (TAT) requirements.

• Follow Quality and EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) practices and participate in risk assessments, JHA, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

• Certificate or diploma in Welding Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical field.

• Recognized TIG/GTAW welding certification (or ability to obtain certification as required by aerospace standards).

• Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in TIG/GTAW welding, preferably in aerospace or precision manufacturing environments.

• Familiar and experienced in welding Aluminum grouping with range thickness 0.030 “ to 0.125” is an advantage.

• Experience working with aircraft components is an advantage.

• Strong attention to detail with excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, weld symbols, and specifications.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.
