Job Purpose

The Technical, Specification & MarCom Senior Manager is responsible for leading technical support, specification engagement, and marketing communications to strengthen product adoption, ensure regulatory compliance, and enhance brand presence. This role works closely with Sales, Marketing, QA/QC, and external stakeholders to drive specification wins, project conversions, and market visibility.

Key Responsibilities

A. Technical Leadership & Product Support

• Lead and participate in new product development, including preparation of technical, performance, and functional specifications.

• Develop and maintain technical kits for all products (datasheets, test reports, certifications, calculations).

• Provide timely technical support to Sales & Marketing, including: o Rainfall, wind load, thermal transmittance (U-value), STC/RW calculations o Design validation and endorsement with third-party Professional Engineers

• Coordinate with QA/QC to ensure up-to-date certifications (SIRIM, CIDB, JKR, BOMBA, MGBC) for project submissions.

• Stay current with product, material, and system developments through internal and external training.

B. Specification & Project Engagement

• Establish and maintain strong relationships with key project specifiers (G5), including Developers, Architects, Engineers, QS, and Contractors.

• Drive product specification inclusion in tenders through value engineering and technical selling.

• Oversee preparation and submission of accurate, complete, and timely project proposals.

• Monitor projects from early design stage to tender conversion, ensuring smooth information flow.

• Work closely with Sales to convert specifications into secured sales.

• Maintain and update the Master Project Listing across all regions.

• Provide regular market intelligence on competitors, trends, and new products.

C. Marketing Communications (MarCom)

• Lead and coordinate marketing communication initiatives, including:

a. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) write-ups

b. Website and social media content

c. Product brochures, presentations, and marketing collaterals

• Collaborate with Marketing on exhibitions, roadshows, seminars, and webinars.

• Coordinate brand awareness initiatives, including campaigns and sponsorships.

• Manage allocated marketing development funds responsibly.

• Ensure availability of high-quality photos and videos for marketing use.

• Support sustainability reporting inputs for Bursa Malaysia Sustainability Statements.

D. Stakeholder Collaboration & Industry Engagement

• Engage with Malaysia Green Building Council (MGBC) on events and presentations.

• Act as technical advisor with universities and regulatory bodies (e.g. for MS standards such as MS 1525, MS 1196, MS 2660, MS 2500).

• Participate in industry collaborations, standards development, and knowledge sharing.

Job Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, Marketing, or related discipline

• Professional certifications in green building, sustainability, or engineering standards will be an advantage

• Minimum 10–12 years of relevant experience in:

a. Technical specification

b. Building materials / construction industry

c. Product marketing or technical sales support

• At least 5 years in a managerial or senior leadership role

• Proven experience working with:

a. Consultants, specifiers, and regulatory bodies

b. Cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, QA/QC)

Technical & Professional Skills

• Strong knowledge of:

o Building materials, systems, and standards

o Green building requirements and energy eAiciency standards

• Ability to perform and interpret technical calculations and specifications

• Solid project proposal and documentation skills

• Strong presentation and stakeholder engagement capability

Others

• Willing to travel locally as required

• Proficient in Microsoft OAice and presentation tools
