Job Description

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide production operations and technical support for middleware technologies and platforms.
  • Maintain the reliability, availability and stability of middleware services.
  • Troubleshoot, analyse and resolve incidents, problems, service requests and change activities.
  • Support and maintain BMC Control-M, Axway CFT/Secure Transport/Sentinel and IBM MQ platforms.
  • Work with development, project and business teams to understand technical requirements and support project deliverables.
  • Identify and resolve performance issues across production platforms.
  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, process optimisation and performance hygiene.
  • Develop and maintain self-service interfaces and associated workflows.
  • Support the development and enhancement of middleware platforms and interfaces.
  • Participate in strategic technology projects and initiatives.
  • Follow ITIL service management practices for incident, problem and change management.
  • Prepare and maintain relevant technical and operational documentation.
  • Participate in shift and on-call support rotations when required.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in middleware service operations, production support or infrastructure operations.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more of the following middleware technologies:BMC Control-MAxway CFT / Secure Transport / SentinelIBM MQ
  • Experience with Linux, Unix and/or Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with monitoring and service management tools such as OMI, ServiceNow or Geneos.
  • Scripting experience with Java, Unix Shell, Python, PowerShell or Perl.
  • Good understanding of ITIL service management processes, including Incident, Problem and Change Management.
  • Good troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a technical team.
  • Willingness to work shifts and participate in an on-call rotation.

Good to Have

  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Elasticsearch, Rundeck or Git.
  • Experience with DevOps tools and practices.
  • BMC Certified Service Professional certification in Control-M Version 9.
  • Additional experience with IBM MQ.
  • Experience in banking or financial services environments.
