Job Description

Responsibilities

Primary Job Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to collaborate with stakeholders to embed a ‘zero harm’ culture and ensure compliance with statutory WHS/ESG requirements and ARYZTA policies, thereby safeguarding our people and the environment. In addition, the role will provide guidance, coaching, and support to drive continuous improvement in WHS and ESG.

Key Accountabilities:

Compliance:

  • Closely monitor the renewal deadlines for all company certificates, licenses, permits, and local authority approvals under compliance responsibility. Ensure timely renewal without delay, and manage all renewals efficiently.
  • Act as the liaison and primary contact between the Company and the respective Local Regulatory Authorities.
  • Follow up with relevant authority departments regarding certificates, licenses, and permits in progress for approval and guidance.
  • Keep internal team members informed of industry regulatory news, updates, guidelines, and standards.
  • Manage other authority requirements (TM, TNB, Syabas, Indah Water).
  • Liaise with local authorities and government agencies on statutory and legislative compliance matters related to safety, health, and environment, such as DOSH and DOE.

Safety:

  • Liaise with DOSH on safety and health matters, and provide guidance in line with APAC Safety requirements for the company.
  • Facilitate Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Committee meetings.
  • Develop training and awareness programs related to workplace safety and health.
  • Review and revise policies related to workplace safety and health.
  • Develop HIRARC in accordance with DOSH requirements.
  • Monitor risk assessments for each department.
  • Conduct Emergency Response Team (ERT) meetings twice per year, as per the emergency response and preparedness procedure (QC-PR-10).
  • Facilitate evacuation drills twice per year in accordance with regulatory and standards requirements.
  • Prepare and disseminate safety and health reports within agreed timelines, including monthly WHS reports.
  • Monitor and maintain WHS management systems at sites, supporting closure of incidents and corrective/preventive actions. Ensure quality incident reporting and provide coaching opportunities. Coach site leadership on effective use of the;[ Rapid Global system.
  • Support the implementation of pAPAC and Global WHS strategy initiatives, programs, and improvement plans, in consultation and collaboration with sites.
  • Drive WHS engagement through initiatives and programs that empower teams with a safety mindset, such as the annual Safety Day and behaviour-based safety programs.
  • Drive continuous improvement by monitoring WHS data, identifying trends, and proactively addressing emerging risks. Establish feedback mechanisms and conduct regular WHS reviews.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, and coordinate the collection of WHS evidence for audit purposes.

Sustainability/Enviroment:

  • Liaise with the Department of Environment (DOE) on all environmental issues.
  • Manage sustainability and environmental data collection, validation, and reporting processes.
  • Prepare ESG-related communications for internal updates, leadership briefings, and external stakeholders as required.
  • Engage cross-functional teams (operations, HR, procurement, communications) to align ESG messaging and initiatives.
  • Promote sustainability and environmental awareness through initiatives and training programs that encourage responsibility and drive site-level improvements.
  • Develop and manage the ESG Committee, ensuring environmental issues are addressed as part of its scope.
  • Monitor and manage wastewater, air pollution, and scheduled waste in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Minimum Diploma or Degree in a related field, or equivalent qualification.
  • Certified and trained Occupational Safety and Health Coordinator (OSH-C).
  • Certified Environmental Practitioner (Schedule Waste & Wastewater).
  • Good working relationship with local authorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and aptitude for teamwork and collaboration.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of statutory compliance requirements in the food industry.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
