We are looking for an experienced Senior HR Manager to oversee and lead the Human Resources function, supporting business operations through effective HR strategies, workforce planning, compliance management, and employee engagement initiatives.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving HR excellence, ensuring compliance with Malaysian employment regulations, managing employee relations, and partnering with management to support organisational growth and operational effectiveness.
Candidates with strong exposure to the Johor labour market, workforce management, and local employment practices will be highly preferred.
Key ResponsibilitiesHR Leadership & Strategic Planning
- Lead and guide the HR team in managing overall HR operations and daily activities.
- Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals and operational requirements.
- Review, enhance, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Provide strategic HR advice and recommendations to management.
HR Compliance & Employment Regulations
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian labour laws, including the Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act, and other relevant regulations.
- Manage and support labour-related audits, government inspections, and compliance matters.
- Provide guidance to management on employment law, HR policies, and regulatory requirements.
Employee Relations & Industrial Relations
- Manage employee relations matters including disciplinary cases, grievances, investigations, and conflict resolution.
- Develop initiatives to improve employee engagement, retention, and workplace culture.
- Establish effective approaches to minimise labour disputes and maintain a positive working environment.
Manpower Planning & Recruitment
- Oversee manpower planning, recruitment strategies, and workforce requirements.
- Work closely with department heads on talent acquisition and succession planning.
- Ensure effective manpower allocation to support business operations.
Payroll & Labour Cost Management
- Monitor workforce costs including payroll, overtime, benefits, and manpower expenses.
- Identify opportunities to improve workforce productivity and cost efficiency.
- Prepare HR reports and analytics to support management decision-making.
Performance Management & Talent Development
- Lead performance management processes across the organisation.
- Drive employee development initiatives, talent management, and succession planning programmes.
- Support capability building and leadership development initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, Law, or related fields.
- Minimum 8 years of HR experience, with proven experience in managerial or leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment legislation, industrial relations, and HR compliance practices.
- Experience managing HR operations within construction, engineering, manufacturing, or project-based industries.
- Proven ability to lead HR teams and implement HR initiatives.
- Strong understanding of manpower planning, payroll budgeting, and labour cost management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Mandarin, English, and Bahasa Malaysia is required.
- Candidates based in Johor or with strong experience managing Johor-based workforce will have an added advantage.
Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM14,000.00 per month
