Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Mechanical Engineering Department to ensure efficient project execution.
  • Plan, assign, and monitor the workload of mechanical engineers, designers, and drafters.
  • Review and approve mechanical designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Ensure all mechanical designs comply with customer specifications, industry standards, and company requirements.
  • Oversee machine design, fabrication, assembly, installation, and commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate with Electrical, Software, Production, Procurement, and Project teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the mechanical engineering team.
  • Review engineering calculations, material selections, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Identify design improvements and implement value engineering initiatives to optimize cost, quality, and manufacturability.
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and provide effective technical solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
  • Develop and maintain engineering procedures, design standards, and best practices.
  • Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and root cause analysis for engineering issues.
  • Monitor departmental KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage department budgets, engineering resources, and equipment utilization.
  • Evaluate supplier technical capabilities and support vendor selection.
  • Support quotation and proposal preparation by providing technical input and cost estimates.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and training for the mechanical engineering team.
  • Collaborate with Management to support business growth, new technologies, and product development.
  • Ensure proper documentation, revision control, and engineering records are maintained.
  • Lead project meetings and communicate project progress to management and customers when required.
  • Promote innovation, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence within the department.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Managing Director or Directors.

Pay: RM7,500.00 - RM10,000.00 per month
