Responsibilities

Mechanical / Electrical & Automation Engineer – Intelligent Construction Machinery

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain electrical control systems for intelligent construction machinery and equipment
  • Develop and debug PLC programs for automated control of heavy machinery and construction processes
  • Design and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and component layouts for new and existing equipment
  • Collaborate with mechanical, software, and robotics engineers to integrate electrical systems with overall machine control architectures
  • Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization at both R&D labs and construction sites
  • Select and evaluate electrical components, sensors, actuators, and controllers to ensure reliability and cost-effectiveness
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test reports, and user manuals
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry safety standards and electrical regulations
  • Provide on-site technical support during equipment installation, commissioning, and maintenance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen-Bradley, or similar platforms)
  • Solid knowledge of electrical control systems, including motor drives, sensors, relays, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, CANBus)
  • Proficiency in reading and designing electrical schematics using CAD tools (e.g., EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical)
  • Familiarity with industrial automation components and their integration into heavy machinery systems
  • Understanding of hydraulic and mechanical systems is a plus, enabling better cross-disciplinary collaboration
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve electrical and control issues under time constraints
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering disciplines
  • Willingness to travel to construction or project sites for on-site support as needed
  • Proficiency in English and Cantonese is a plus
