Melaka Straits Medical Centre Hiring! Full Time Project Manager (Hospital) in Melaka - Ricebowl

To lead and oversee the planning, execution, delivery and completion of hospital development projects, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, in accordance with quality standards, statutory requirements and business objectives. The role is responsible for managing the entire project lifecycle from design development and authority approvals through construction, handover and defect liability period.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Development

• Lead project planning, design development and value engineering initiatives to optimize project cost, quality and marketability.

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, consultants and authorities to ensure timely approvals and project readiness.

• Review project feasibility, development strategies and implementation plan to support business objectives.

• Monitor project budgets, development costs and cash flow projections throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Execution & Delivery

• Manage and oversee all aspects of project implementation from pre-construction to completion and handover.

• Lead consultants, contractors and project teams to ensure projects are delivered within approved timelines, budget and quality standards.

• Monitor construction progress, identify project risks and implement mitigation or recovery plans where required.

• Review and resolve technical, contractual and operational issues arising during project execution.

• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, authority requirements and contractual obligations.

• Oversee CCC, Vacant Possession (VP), handover and defect liability management processes.

Stakeholder & Contract Management

• Manage project consultants, contractors, service providers and relevant authorities to achieve project objectives.

• Lead project meetings and provide timely updates to Management on project status, risks and key milestones.

• Evaluate contractor performance and recommend corrective actions where necessary.

• Support tender evaluations, contract negotiations and appointment of consultants and contractors.

Cost, Quality & Risk Management

• Drive cost optimization and value engineering initiatives without compromising quality and product positioning.

• Ensure effective cost control, variation management and final account settlement.

• Establish and monitor project quality standards and ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

• Identify project risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, mentor and develop site teams.

• Promote a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Compliance, Safety & Governance

• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, building regulations, environmental standards and company policies.

• Promote a safe working environment and foster a strong safety culture across project sites.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, Quantity Surveying or related discipline.

• Minimum 10 years of working experience in construction management, with a proven track record of managing large-scale projects especially hospital project.

• Candidates must be willing to be based at project site in Pulau Pinang.

• Willing to travel as required for business and operational needs.

• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

• Strong understanding of construction processes, techniques, and materials.

• Proficiency in project management software and tools.
