Job Description

Responsibilities

HOMEONE WATER HEATER PTE LTD Technical Features Journalist Salary: SGD 4,500–7,500(performance-dependent) | Full-Time, Permanent | Singapore

What this role actually is

Your job is to find stories in a live operation and publish them —articles that rank, get cited by AI engines, and send real people to Homeone when they search for answers about gas installations, water heater compliance,or what a technician is legally required to do.

The stories are already happening. Every job produces a near-miss, a compliance question, a customer misunderstanding, or a regulatory edge case.Nobody is writing them down in a way that ranks. That is the gap this role fills.

You will spend the first three months inside the operation — customer service, field compliance, digital publishing. Not observing from a distance.Handling live enquiries, attending jobs, sitting with the compliance manager, learning what the law actually requires and why. You write during this period. You publish during this period. The training and the output run together from Day 1.

What we are looking for

No specific background required. We will teach the technical side. What we cannot teach:

Genuinely curious You need to understand how things work — not just describe that they exist. A water heater tripping its circuit is not a fault report. It is a story about what the installation missed and what the code requires. You either see that immediately or you do not.

Accountable for output You care whether the article was accurate and useful, not whether it looked professional.

Comfortable being wrong You can write a first draft that is wrong and fix it. You do not treat corrections as failure.

Fast and self-directed The operation runs by week, not by quarter. You identify the story, verify it with the team, write it, get it reviewed, and publish it. Nobody tracks your process. The published article is the only evidence that matters.

On AI use This role requires heavy daily use of AI — ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, or whichever you find most effective. We expect you to use it to research, structure, and draft articles. What we expect you to add is judgement — knowing what the AI got wrong about installation, catching a technical inaccuracy before it gets published, asking the compliance manager to follow up questions the AI would not know to ask.

If you have never used AI writing tools, this is not the role for you at this stage. If you use them daily and know their limits, we want to hear from you.

What Homeone will provide

Access to technicians, the compliance manager, the senior supervisor, and the planning team. WordPress access, publishing workflow, and basic web skill straining. A live, fast-moving operation with a genuine story every single day.An honest account from an interviewer on what matters and why.

Who will not thrive in this role

We are being direct because it saves everyone's time. This role is not suited to people whose primary motivation is a media or journalism title on their CV, people who want published work closely edited rather than sent back quickly, or people who need external validation before publishing.

Career changers with the right mindset are welcome. We train on the technical side from zero.
