Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking a Process Engineer with direct hands-on experience in the detailed engineering of FPSO gas compression systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering process engineering design activities for offshore gas compression packages, including process design, equipment sizing, safety studies, technical documentation, and multidisciplinary coordination throughout the engineering lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop process engineering deliverables, including Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Safety Diagrams (PSDs), and Heat & Mass Balance calculations.

  • Prepare and review Gas Compression P&IDs and other process engineering documentation.

  • Perform Aspen HYSYS simulations to support process design, optimization, and performance evaluation.

  • Carry out sizing calculations for:

    • Gas compression skid piping

    • Pulsation bottles

    • Scrubbers (including internals)

    • Coolers

    • Pressure Safety Valves (PSVs)

  • Prepare PSV sizing, settle-out, and blowdown calculation reports.

  • Design fire protection systems for gas compression skids and perform hydraulic calculations.

  • Prepare operating, control, and safeguarding philosophies.

  • Develop and maintain process datasheets and line lists.

  • Prepare and review Cause & Effect matrices.

  • Lead and participate in HAZOP, LOPA, and SIL studies.

  • Perform technical evaluation of process equipment, packages, and instrumentation.

  • Participate in design review meetings with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

  • Work independently while coordinating with mechanical, piping, instrumentation, electrical, and project engineering teams to deliver engineering solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years of recent hands-on experience in the detailed engineering of gas compression systems is mandatory, preferably for FPSO and offshore oil & gas projects.

  • Direct experience in the detailed engineering of FPSO gas compression systems.

  • Strong knowledge of offshore process engineering principles and industrial design practices.

  • Proficiency in Aspen HYSYS process simulation software.

  • Experience preparing process engineering calculations, technical reports, and engineering documentation.

  • Experience conducting or leading HAZOP, LOPA, and SIL studies.

  • Strong understanding of gas compression equipment, pressure protection systems, and offshore process facilities.

  • Ability to prepare process datasheets, line lists, operating philosophies, control philosophies, safeguarding philosophies, and Cause & Effect matrices.

  • Experience performing equipment sizing, PSV sizing, settle-out and blowdown calculations, and fire protection hydraulic calculations.

  • Ability to work independently and effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
