Are you energetic, bubbly, and great at engaging young children through music and movement? We are looking for an enthusiastic Freelance Rhythm & Movement Instructor to lead fun, interactive CCA sessions for kindergarten-aged children.
Our Rhythm & Movement programme introduces young learners to rhythm, music, movement, coordination, and creative expression through play. Classes include action songs, movement games, body percussion, simple instruments, dancing, musical storytelling, and other age-appropriate activities designed to keep young children active and engaged.
This role is ideal for educators, performers, musicians, dancers, early childhood practitioners, or enrichment instructors who are confident working with younger children and enjoy creating a lively and positive learning environment.
Training, lesson plans, and activity materials will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Rhythm & Movement classes: Lead fun, age-appropriate sessions using music, movement, rhythm, and play.
- Facilitate interactive activities: Guide children through action songs, movement games, simple dances, body percussion, and percussion instruments.
- Encourage learning through play: Introduce basic concepts such as beat, tempo, musical patterns, coordination, and listening through hands-on activities.
- Create a positive classroom environment: Keep young children engaged and manage behaviour with patience, warmth, and clear boundaries.
- Ensure safe and organised sessions: Supervise movement activities, use equipment responsibly, and follow provided lesson plans and programme guidelines.
Key Requirements
- Comfortable and confident working with kindergarten-aged children.
- Energetic, expressive, patient, and able to engage young children enthusiastically.
- Comfortable leading songs, movement activities, rhythm games, and group activities.
- Able to demonstrate activities clearly and participate actively alongside the children.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional when working within school environments.
- Able to commit to a weekly CCA schedule for a minimum of 6 months, excluding school holidays.
- Willing to travel to various school locations across Singapore.
- Willing to undergo the necessary background and safeguarding checks required for working in schools.
Bonus (not required):
- Experience in early childhood education, music, dance, performing arts, physical education, or enrichment programmes.
- Previous experience teaching or facilitating activities for children aged approximately 3–6 years old.
- Ability to sing confidently or play an instrument such as keyboard, guitar, or ukulele.
Interview & Selection Process
Candidates will undergo a 3-stage selection process:
- Initial Screening & Group Stage (Video Call) – Short interview and group interaction.
- Face-to-Face Session & Trial Lesson Segment – In-person meeting, programme training, and a short demonstration activity.
- Tryout Class (Final Review) – Conduct a supervised class session for final evaluation.

- Full training in programme delivery and classroom management.

- Ongoing support from the Whizz Kidz programme team.
