Talent Hiring! Full Time Structural Drafter in Federal Territory - Ricebowl

Our client are seeking an experienced Structural Drafter to join a growing structural engineering consultancy. This is an excellent opportunity for a capable drafter who enjoys taking ownership of their work and is looking for a long-term career with a growing business. You will work directly with the Director/Project Structural Engineer, preparing high-quality structural drawings and documentation for Australian residential and small commercial projects.

As the business expands, there will be an opportunity for the successful candidate to grow with the company and develop into a senior drafting role, helping to build a high-performing drafting team.

Using SketchUp Pro and LayOut, you will be responsible for preparing structural drawings, details and documentation across a range of Australian projects.

Your work will predominantly include:

• Timber framing
• Structural steel framing and connection details
• Reinforced concrete structures
• Suspended concrete slabs
• Footings and foundations
• Basement construction and retaining structures
• Masonry and reinforced concrete retaining walls
• Precast concrete elements
• Associated structural details and documentation

You will work closely with the Melbourne-based engineering team to ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated and produced to a high standard in accordance with relevant Australian Standards and industry practices.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A minimum of 3 years' professional experience using SketchUp Pro (LayOut highly desirable)
• Strong drafting, detailing and documentation skills
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
• The ability to work independently and effectively as part of a remote team
• Confidence reporting directly to the Director/Project Structural Engineer on a daily basis
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English
• The ability to commence immediately or at short notice
• A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn and be coached
• An interest in developing your skills and growing with the company over the long term
