Job Summary
The Terminal Operation Management Trainee is a structured development role designed for fresh graduates or entry-level candidates with strong potential to become future terminal operations leaders. The trainee will rotate across various operational functions, gaining hands-on experience in terminal operations, vessel handling, cargo management, safety compliance, equipment coordination, and operational planning.
Key ResponsibilitiesTerminal Operations
- Assist in coordinating daily terminal operations to ensure efficient cargo handling activities.
- Support vessel berthing, loading, unloading, and yard operations.
- Monitor operational performance and report daily activities.
- Assist in planning manpower and equipment deployment.
Cargo & Yard Management
- Monitor cargo movement and storage activities.
- Ensure proper documentation of cargo receiving and delivery.
- Coordinate with shipping agents, transporters, and customers.
- Support inventory and yard utilization monitoring.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with terminal safety policies and PPE requirements.
- Participate in safety inspections, toolbox meetings, and incident investigations.
- Support implementation of HSE procedures and permit-to-work systems.
- Promote safe working practices throughout terminal operations.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare daily operational reports and shift handover reports.
- Maintain accurate operational records and documentation.
- Assist in preparing KPI reports and performance analysis.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs and regulatory requirements.
Equipment Coordination
- Coordinate with maintenance teams regarding equipment availability.
- Monitor operational readiness of cranes, forklifts, reach stackers, and other terminal equipment.
- Report equipment defects and operational issues promptly.
Continuous Improvement
- Participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Support implementation of digitalization and automation initiatives where applicable.
RequirementsEducation
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in:
- Port & Terminal Management
- Logistics & Supply Chain Management
- Maritime Studies
- Transportation Management
- Business Administration
- Industrial Engineering
- Operations Management
- Or related disciplines
Experience
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Internship experience in ports, logistics, shipping, warehousing, or terminal operations is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Willingness to work in shifts, weekends, public holidays, and outdoor environments.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced operational setting.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM4,500.00 per hour
