Role Description The Payroll and Compliance Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Shah Alam. The role involves managing end-to-end payroll processing, including data collection, validation of timesheets, calculation of wages, deductions, and statutory contributions, and ensuring timely payments. The officer monitors and maintains compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies, preparing and updating documentation, reports, and records. Daily tasks include reconciling payroll accounts, addressing employee payroll queries, supporting audits, and coordinating with finance and HR teams to ensure accurate and compliant practices. The compliance function requires strong governance and meticulous and careful understanding of regulatory and grant requirements.


Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Compliance Management and Regulatory Compliance skills to ensure adherence to labor laws, tax rules, and internal policies.
  • Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills for accurate payroll calculations, data validation, and reconciliation of payroll and finance records.
  • Candidates should possess effective Communication skills to respond to employee queries, collaborate with internal teams, and prepare clear compliance reports.
  • Candidates should possess foundational Finance skills, including understanding of payroll accounting, statutory contributions, and financial reporting to work effectively with its counterparts and stakeholders
  • Candidates should ideally have experience with payroll systems or HRIS, proficiency in MS Excel, and strong attention to detail. Having used and knowledge of Employment Hero is a bonus!
  • A relevant diploma or degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, and prior experience in payroll or compliance roles, would be beneficial.
  • Ability to work on-site in Shah Alam, manage confidential information responsibly, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment is required.
