Responsibilities
As a Handbag Repair Craftsman at BONIA, you will be responsible for repairing, restoring and maintaining premium handbags and leather goods. This role requires relevant hands-on experience, strong technical skills and close attention to detail to ensure every repaired item meets BONIA’s quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Handbag Repair and Restoration
Repair and restore handbags, wallets and other leather accessories. Tasks may include mending tears, repairing stitching, replacing zippers, restoring handles and straps, repairing hardware and refurbishing worn leather surfaces.
Leather Refinishing
Perform leather cleaning, conditioning, color touch-ups and surface refinishing while maintaining the product’s original appearance and quality.
Quality Control
Inspect items before and after repair, identify suitable repair methods and ensure all completed work meets BONIA’s workmanship and finishing standards.
Repair Assessment
Assess the condition of each item, identify damaged components and recommend appropriate repair or restoration solutions.
Customer Service
Communicate professionally with customers regarding repair requirements, expected outcomes and available restoration options.
Requirements
Relevant experience in handbag repair, leather repair or leather goods restoration.
Experience in sewing and repairing leather products.
Ability to repair zippers, handles, straps, linings, stitching and handbag hardware.
Knowledge of leather materials, repair techniques, tools and finishing methods.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
Ability to operate sewing machines and leather repair tools safely.
Effective communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and manage repair assignments efficiently.
