Job Description

Responsibilities

Role Summary

Our client is seeking a Technical Writer to support our IT Disaster Recovery (DR) project for the GLC Client. This is a dual‑function role: you will work hand‑in‑hand with our IT DR Consultant to compile and produce customer‑facing documentation to specification, while also carrying project administration and coordination duties across the DR planning workstream. Strong writing discipline and organisational rigour matter more than deep engineering skill — but you must be able to translate technical input into clear, structured, audit‑ready deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

· Documentation (in partnership with the IT DR Consultant):

· Work closely with the IT DR Consultant to gather, structure, and write DR documentation to the GLC Client’s requirements and format standards.

· Produce DR plans, runbooks, recovery procedures, standard operating procedures (SOPs), test plans, and post‑test reports.

· Maintain version control, document registers, and ensure consistency, accuracy, and traceability across all deliverables.

· Review and edit technical content for clarity, completeness, and compliance with customer and regulatory expectations.

Project administration & coordination:

· Support the Project Manager with day‑to‑day project administration for the IT DR planning engagement.

· Track deliverables, milestones, action items and dependencies; maintain project trackers and status reports.

· Coordinate meetings, minutes and follow‑ups between GKSH, the GLC Client, and vendor / partner stakeholders.

· Assist in preparing submissions, acceptance documents and progress reports for customer sign‑off.

Requirements

· Diploma / Degree in IT, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field.

· Proven technical writing experience, ideally in IT infrastructure, disaster recovery, business continuity, or cybersecurity documentation.

· Excellent written English; Bahasa Malaysia an advantage for government correspondence.

· Strong command of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and document / project management tools.

· Familiarity with IT DR / BCP concepts, RTO / RPO, and IT infrastructure terminology.

· Highly organised, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple deliverables to deadline.

· Experience on Malaysian Government / GLC projects is a strong advantage.

· Awareness of PDPA and the handling of sensitive / confidential information.

Desirable

· Exposure to DR technologies from vendors such as Cisco, IBM, Hitachi, Commvault, Fortinet, and F5.

· Prior project coordination or PMO support experience.

Engagement Terms

· Engagement is subject to signing an NDA and PDPA confidentiality undertaking prior to onboarding.

Any applicable security vetting / clearance requirements to be confirmed before commencement

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM10,000.00 per month

Benefits:

  • Health insurance
  • Maternity leave
  • Opportunities for promotion
  • Professional development

Experience:

  • Technical Writing: 3 years (Required)
