ASEM (Advanced Semiconductor Academy of Malaysia) is a national initiative under the Malaysia IC Design Park, aligned with the National Semiconductor Strategy and led by the Ministry of Economy with strong support from the Selangor State Government and SIDEC. It aims to elevate Malaysia’s semiconductor industry from “Made in Malaysia” to “Made by Malaysia” by driving local participation in design, prototyping, and production. ASEM provides stakeholders with access to EDA tools, testing infrastructure, IP resources, MPW services, talent development programs, and the Selangor Semiconductor Fund. Through partnerships with leading international institutions and over 25 local universities, as well as collaborations with more than 150 industry partners and key foundries such as TSMC, Siltera, and xFabs, ASEM supports advanced training, headhunting for semiconductor talent, and collaborative R&D. Applicants join a dynamic ecosystem focused on innovation, global collaboration, and long-term career growth in the semiconductor sector.

About The Program
The Hardware Integration Engineer Apprenticeship Program focuses on developing engineers who can connect different hardware components, firmware, and communication systems into a complete working solution.
In real-world product development, individual components must work together seamlessly. Hardware integration engineers play an important role in ensuring electronic systems, sensors, communication modules, and embedded software operate as one complete system.
This programme provides hands-on exposure to hardware integration, system troubleshooting, and embedded product development.
Program Structure
The programme consists of 1 month of intensive technical training followed by 3 months of On-the-Job Training (OJT) with a company.
