Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of cost estimates, Bills of Quantities (BQ), and cost plans during the pre-tender stage.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, cost planning, value engineering, and cost analysis to support project viability and optimise project value.
  • Provide professional advice on project budgets, cost implications, and procurement strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and review tender documents, including scope of works, pricing schedules, and contract conditions.
  • Lead tender evaluations, analyse contractor and supplier submissions, and provide recommendations for contract awards.
  • Manage the procurement of materials, subcontractors, and services, ensuring cost competitiveness and compliance with company policies.
  • Administer main contracts and subcontracts, including variations, claims, extensions of time (EOT), and contractual correspondence.
  • Ensure all contract documentation, insurances, warranties, and statutory requirements are properly maintained and updated.
  • Monitor compliance with contractual obligations, project specifications, and company procedures.
  • Monitor project costs, cash flow, and budget performance, identifying cost variances and recommending corrective actions.
  • Review and certify progress claims, prepare interim payment certificates, and oversee final account settlements.
  • Lead the evaluation and negotiation of variation orders, change requests, and contractual claims with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Resolve commercial and contractual issues while minimising project risks and protecting the company's interests.
  • Prepare project cost reports, forecasts, and commercial updates for management review.
  • Support project handover, defect liability management, and post-project cost analysis, including lessons learned.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior Quantity Surveyors and Executives while promoting continuous improvement within the team.

Qualifications & Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying within the construction or property development industry.
  • Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, AIQS, BQSM) is an added advantage.
  • Experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry.
  • Proficient in cost estimation software and MS Excel.
  • Familiar with tendering procedures and contract administration tools.

Job Type: Contract
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: RM2,700.00 - RM8,800.00 per month
