We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our growing team.
Key ResponsibilitiesIndividualised Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver engaging, child-centred learning experiences based on each child's developmental needs and learning goals.
- Adapt teaching strategies, learning materials, and classroom activities to accommodate different learning abilities.
- Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and monitor each child's progress.
- Foster children's cognitive, communication, social, emotional, behavioural, and independent living skills.
Classroom Management
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
- Implement positive behaviour support strategies and classroom routines.
- Ensure children's wellbeing and safety throughout all learning activities.
- Prepare teaching resources and maintain an organised classroom environment.
Observation & Documentation
- Observe, assess, and document children's developmental progress.
- Prepare progress reports and maintain accurate student records.
- Identify children's strengths, challenges, and learning needs through continuous assessment.
- Provide timely feedback to parents and the multidisciplinary team.
Family Collaboration
- Build positive partnerships with parents and caregivers.
- Communicate children's progress, achievements, and areas requiring additional support.
- Provide practical strategies for parents to reinforce learning at home.
- Participate in parent meetings and conferences when required.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
- Work closely with occupational therapists, speech therapists, psychologists, and other professionals to support children's development.
- Participate in case discussions and intervention planning.
- Implement classroom strategies recommended by therapists and specialists.
Professional Development
- Participate actively in internal and external training programmes.
- Attend staff meetings, workshops, and professional development activities.
- Stay updated with current practices in special education and inclusive education.
- Contribute ideas to improve teaching quality and programme development.
Additional Responsibilities
- Support school programmes, events, and community activities.
- Maintain professionalism and uphold the values of Joyous Education Group.
- Perform other duties assigned by the management.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with teaching or intervention experience will have an added advantage.
- Passionate about working with children with diverse learning needs.
- Patient, caring, positive, and able to build trusting relationships with children and families.
- Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills.
- Able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Creative, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning.
