This role resides under Marine Services (the Integrated Marine Services arm of MISC Group).
THE JOB
To contribute to the Division's business growth and competitiveness through the provision of data-driven analysis, market intelligence, and commercial insights that support strategic and operational decision-making. The position plays an active role in evaluating new business opportunities, supporting tender and proposal development, conducting market and competitor assessments, and participating in business development projects to enhance MISC Marine's market presence and long-term value creation.
- Support the Line Manager in identifying, evaluating, and pursuing business opportunities aligned with the company's strategic growth objectives.
- Coordinate and contribute to the preparation, review, and submission of bids, tenders, commercial proposals, and business presentations to ensure competitiveness and compliance with customer requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive market research and business intelligence gathering to identify emerging market trends, customer needs, potential partnerships, and new revenue opportunities.
- Analyze industry dynamics, competitor activities, pricing strategies, and market developments to provide actionable insights that support business planning, decision-making, and service competitiveness.
- Assist in developing business cases, commercial assessments, financial analysis, and strategic recommendations to support new ventures, projects, and investment opportunities.
- Prepare management reports, business updates, presentations, and board papers for submission to MISC Marine Management, Board of Directors, and Shareholders.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across commercial, operations, technical, finance, legal, and support functions to ensure alignment and successful execution of business development initiatives.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, business partners, industry players, and relevant stakeholders to strengthen MISC Marine's market presence and foster long-term partnerships.
- Support customer engagement activities, including meetings, negotiations, industry events, and networking sessions to enhance business opportunities and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor the progress of ongoing opportunities, contracts, and strategic initiatives while ensuring timely follow-up and effective stakeholder communication.
- Maintain accurate market databases, opportunity pipelines, and business development records to support reporting and strategic planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, governance requirements, and applicable regulatory standards in all business development activities.
THE PERSON
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in business development or related field and commercial experience with some direct experience in the Shipmanagement / Port & Terminal / maritime logistics / oil & gas industry function.
- Possess basic knowledge of concepts, principles and practices in commercial negotiation, project management and risk management.
- Poses basic knowledge of concepts, principles and practices in maritime business, particularly in ship management, port operations & marine assurance, business development, commercial strategies and customer relationship management.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field preferred.
