C-A-T Playground is Malaysia’s first therapeutic playground integrating Cat-Assisted Therapy. We specialize in small-group, sensory-based intervention programs utilizing the therapeutic presence of our rescued and trained cats.

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, and feline-loving Special Needs Teacher to facilitate our Autism-Focused & Sensory-Based Therapy programs. In this role, you will work closely with our certified Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists to conduct engaging 180-minute sessions.

Your goal is to help children (diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, Speech Delay, Cerebral Palsy, and other developmental conditions) improve their gross and fine motor skills, sensory integration, and communication abilities—all with the help of our feline co-therapists.

Key Responsibilities

* Facilitate Small-Group Therapy: Conduct interactive 180-minute intervention sessions in small ratios (1:2 or 2:4) under the guidance of our professional therapists.

* Integrate Cat-Assisted Therapy (AAT): Safely guide interactions between children and our therapy cats, utilizing the Catit senses playground for pet interaction and pet care vocational training to build rapport, empathy, and social skills.

* Sensory & Motor Skills Training: Administer sensory integration techniques (such as sensory brushing and joint compression) and utilize specialized equipment like Weplay products and Snoezelen senses training to develop motor functions.

* Holistic Development: Lead supplementary activities including Crayola art, origami, building blocks (We-block), to foster cognitive, play, and academic functional skills.

* Progress Tracking & Collaboration: Assess and monitor each child’s development, adjusting individualized program goals in collaboration with our in-house therapists.

* Parental Engagement: Provide constructive feedback and updates to parents during drop-off and pick-up, ensuring schedules run punctually so other sessions are not affected.

* Feline Welfare: Assist in maintaining a safe, clean, and stress-free environment for both the children and our rescued therapy cats.

Qualifications & Requirements

* Education: Diploma or Degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or a related field.

* Experience: Prior experience working with special needs children (Autism, ADHD, Global Development Delay, Dyslexia, etc.) is highly preferred.

* Feline-Friendly: A genuine love for cats and comfort in handling them is strictly required.

* Skills: High emotional intelligence, endless patience, and strong communication skills. Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), School Readiness, or sensory integration is a strong advantage.

* Attitude: A positive, proactive mindset aligned with our philosophy of highlighting the strengths of neurodivergent children rather than just promoting awareness.

Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,500.00 per month
