Cedars Digital is looking for a Head of Engineering to help drive the next stage of our regional and global growth. We're building AI-powered carbon management solutions that enable enterprises to measure, manage, and reduce their carbon footprint across increasingly complex operations and supply chains. What You’ll Be Driving:

Cedars helps businesses decarbonise across complex supply chains, product carbon footprints, and the transition to green energy. As our Head of Engineering, your mission is to turn this critical vision into software that actually ships while building a high velocity, audit grade engineering organisation capable of scaling.

Delivery & Delivery Mechanics

• Sprint Execution. Run sprint planning, standups, reviews, and retros so they are tight, pragmatic, and not be just a formality.
• Proactive Risk Management. Stay close enough to daily delivery to spot slippage early and cause last minute delays.
• Formalise standards. Standardise the definition of done, estimation, and velocity tracking across 4 to 5 teams spread across different county-based teams and outsource partners.

AI Architecture & Technical Integrity

• Audit Grade Output: Ensure engineering outputs, especially those involving agentic AI should produce versioned data and verifiable audit trails trustworthy enough for external regulators, third-party verifiers, and enterprise compliance teams.
• Build vs. Buy Strategy: Own relationships with tooling vendors and outsource development partners, making clear strategic calls on what stays in-house versus what gets contracted out.

Team Leadership & Organizational Scaling

• Coach the Leaders: Coach Tech Leads directly on ceremony management and leadership so you are not the sole person holding the operational standard.
• Flexible Team Design: Scale, restructure, and adapt the engineering org as the business grows and product priorities shift, actively managing team design structures as we scale beyond our current footprint.

What we're looking for:

• Proven Engineering Leadership: 8+ years in engineering leadership with a demonstrated track record of scaling teams and turning around delivery bottlenecks in fast-moving environments.
• Modern Agentic AI Architecture: Hands-on, working knowledge of data architectures for AI, specifically separating LLM reasoning from deterministic calculation engines, implementing generator-evaluator loops, and building versioned auditability into AI pipelines.
• Multi-Region Team Management: Proven experience managing distributed, cross-functional engineering teams across different time zones (ideally within APAC).
• Technical Depth: A technical background strong enough to challenge architectural decisions, sanity check estimations, and guide senior engineers, even if you are not writing production code daily.
• Pragmatic & Delivery Focused: High bias for action. You value working software, clean data pipelines, and clear accountability over rigid framework adherence.

What success looks like in six months:

• Sprint commitments are hit more often than missed, retros surface real issues instead of vague ones, and you can walk into any of the 4 to 5 teams' standups and immediately tell how the sprint is tracking.
• Development teams are inspired and encouraged to bring forth technical creative solutions that drive customer satisfaction and contribute to the company’s overall mission.
