Job Description

Responsibilities

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Receive and execute written orders from dentists and dental students accurately, ensuring clear communication and understanding of the required tasks.
  • Fabricate, modify, and repair dental devices for treatment, replacement, and protection, including full and partial dentures, provisional prostheses, crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, orthodontic appliances, implant-supported prostheses, maxillofacial appliances, and any other form of prosthesis as prescribed by dentists.
  • Ensure all dental prostheses and appliances are completed within the acceptable turnaround time.
  • Maintain and upkeep equipment and instruments, ensuring they are in proper working condition.
  • Ensure the workbench is kept clean and tidy after each procedure, adhering to cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Ensure sufficient stock of materials and consumables required for the fabrication of prostheses and appliances in the dental laboratory and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Ensure each work order is registered correctly and promptly, maintaining accurate records for billing purposes.
  • Prepare dental models as needed and conduct demonstrations of various dental laboratory procedures for dental students, ensuring proper instructional techniques.
  • Assist and support Teaching & Learning activities conducted by the school/university, including demonstrations, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) workshops, seminars, and pre-conference workshops.
  • Support school/university events and activities such as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, charity events, etc.
  • Guide students in the fabrication of dental prostheses, including Thermoplastic appliances, carving of premolars and molars, complete dentures, partial dentures, etc., as required.
  • Handle complaints from clinics and work to find a resolution. Report unresolved cases to the Manager.
  • Coordinate, supervise, and guide junior Dental Technologists, ensuring that they follow proper procedures and quality standards.
  • Assist in evaluating new equipment and materials for acquisition, ensuring they meet the needs of the lab.
  • Assist in the development of procedures for the ceramic lab to ensure operational efficiency and standardization.
  • Actively participate in Safety and Health activities within the department, including hazard identification and promoting lab safety awareness among staff and students.
  • Emphasizing compliance with safety, industry standards, and health protocols.
  • Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the immediate superior.

Job requirement:

  • Minimum Diploma in Dental Technology, and registered with Malaysia Allied Health Profession Council.
  • At least 3 years work experience in dental lab with supervisory knowledge and skills.
  • Able to work independently and proactive.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Computer literature is a must.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
