About the Role

The Smokehouse Collective is looking for a reliable and hands-on team member to support our catering deliveries, kitchen operations and BBQ events.

This is a varied operational role suitable for someone who enjoys driving, food preparation and working at events. Training will be provided, but candidates with delivery, kitchen, catering or BBQ experience will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver food, equipment and catering orders using a company-provided van
• Plan delivery routes and ensure orders arrive safely and on time
• Load and unload food, equipment and event supplies
• Pack and prepare customer orders in the kitchen when required
• Check orders for accuracy before delivery
• Set up and dismantle BBQ pits, live stations and event equipment
• Prepare and grill food as a BBQ chef during events
• Maintain proper food hygiene and workplace cleanliness
• Communicate professionally with customers and event organisers
• Clean and maintain the company van, BBQ equipment and catering supplies
• Assist with other kitchen, warehouse and event duties when required

Requirements

• Valid Class 3 or Class 3A driving licence
• Comfortable driving a van and making islandwide deliveries
• Able to carry food boxes, equipment and other moderately heavy items
• Willing to work on weekends, public holidays and during evening events
• Responsible, punctual and able to work independently
• Good communication and customer-service skills
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen and event environment
• BBQ, kitchen, catering or food-delivery experience is preferred
• Basic food hygiene certification is preferred; training may be arranged where applicable

Working Arrangement

• Full-time position based on a roster
• Up to 44 working hours per week
• One rostered rest day per week, weekday
• Event schedules may include evenings, weekends and public holidays
