Job Description

Responsibilities

The Senior Payroll Specialist will partner closely with HR, Finance and business stakeholders to support payroll budgeting, workforce cost forecasting, and manpower planning activities. The role plays a key part in providing payroll analytics and insights, monitoring labour costs, and supporting business planning and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and process end-to-end payroll operations accurately and timely for assigned entities.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with applicable employment legislation, tax regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and submit payroll-related filings, including annual tax reporting, tax clearance applications, and statutory claims.
  • Maintain and validate payroll data, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of employee records.
  • Prepare payroll-related reports, analytics, and management information to support business decision-making.
  • Support annual budgeting, workforce cost planning, and forecasting activities by providing payroll and headcount projections and analysing variances.
  • Collaborate with Finance and business stakeholders to monitor actual payroll costs against budget, provide forecast updates, and ensure accuracy of personnel cost planning.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing payroll documentation and ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
  • Participate in regional payroll projects and process improvement initiatives.
  • Answering queries relating to payroll matters
  • Ensure the HR Policies are in compliance to its local legislation.
  • Support employee lifecycle activities, including onboarding, offboarding, salary changes, etc.
  • Diploma in Human Resource Management, Administrative or similar

Key Requirements

  • Diploma in Human Resource Management, Administrative or similar
  • At least 3 - 5 years of payroll experience, preferably in a regional or multi-country environment.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll operations, statutory requirements and employment legislation.
  • Experience in payroll budgeting, forecasting, headcount planning, and personnel cost analysis will be advantageous.
  • Knowledge in Info-tech HR software is an advantage
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications (i.e. Excel, Word, Power Point)
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Meticulous and detailed-orientated
  • Able to work with sensitive payroll information
  • Self-started and able to multitask
  • Proactive and Resourceful
  • Critical thinker
