Role Description The Chargeman at YTL Data Centers is a full-time, on-site role based in Pasir Gudang, responsible for overseeing and maintaining electrical systems and related infrastructure within the data center facility. The role involves monitoring equipment performance, conducting routine inspections, and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure safe and uninterrupted operations. The Chargeman will supervise technicians and contractors, allocate tasks, and ensure work is performed in accordance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and company procedures. Daily duties include handling heavy equipment where required, supporting minor carpentry and facility upkeep activities, maintaining accurate records of maintenance work, and communicating effectively with operations, engineering, and safety teams. The Chargeman will also assist in troubleshooting issues, recommending improvements, and supporting new installations or upgrades to enhance reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Supervisory Skills, including the ability to lead teams, coordinate work schedules, and oversee contractors safely and effectively.
• Candidates should possess experience with Heavy Equipment and Maintenance, including operation, inspection, and routine servicing of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Candidates should possess good Communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, document work clearly, and report issues promptly.
• Candidates should possess basic Carpentry and general facility Maintenance skills to support minor repairs and ensure the data center environment is well maintained.
• Relevant technical certification or license as Chargeman or equivalent (recognized by local authorities).
• Experience in data centers, industrial facilities, or power-related infrastructure is an advantage.
• Solid understanding of electrical safety standards, local regulations, and best practices for critical environments.
• Ability to work on-site in Pasir Gudang, respond to emergencies when required, and perform shift or weekend duties if operationally needed.
