Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Medical Laboratory Technologist role based in Johor Bahru. The Medical Laboratory Technologist will perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in areas such as hematology, biochemistry, microbiology, and immunology, ensuring accurate and timely results to support clinical decision-making. Responsibilities include preparing specimens, operating and maintaining laboratory instruments, calibrating equipment, and adhering to established protocols and safety standards. The role involves monitoring quality control data, troubleshooting test discrepancies, documenting results in laboratory information systems, and collaborating with medical and nursing teams to meet patient care needs. The technologist will also support inventory management, participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives, and stay current with laboratory best practices and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Medical Technology and Laboratory Medicine knowledge to perform and interpret diagnostic tests accurately.
  • Candidates should possess practical Laboratory Skills, including specimen handling, instrument operation, and adherence to safety procedures.
  • Candidates should possess Quality Control skills to monitor test performance, maintain calibration standards, and comply with laboratory accreditation requirements.
  • Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Medicine to understand test relevance, clinical correlations, and patient-centered care.
  • Diploma or degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biomedical Science, or a related field, with appropriate professional certification or registration as required by Malaysian regulations.
  • Experience working in a clinical laboratory, preferably in a hospital setting, with familiarity in multiple laboratory disciplines.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to work accurately under time constraints.
  • Effective communication skills, ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, and commitment to patient safety and confidentiality.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or public holidays as needed to support continuous laboratory operations.
