Pinpoint Asia Hiring! Full Time Platform Engineer - Global Hedge Fund in - Ricebowl

We are hiring a Platform Engineer for a global investment firm in Singapore.

This is a hands-on role covering Linux infrastructure, automation, virtualisation and containerised environments. You will help improve the reliability, scalability and operational efficiency of the firm’s core technology platform.

What you will do

• Build and maintain Linux infrastructure across physical and virtual environments
• Automate server provisioning, configuration, patching and systems administration
• Develop infrastructure-as-code for platform services and application dependencies
• Support virtualisation platforms and troubleshoot issues across the underlying stack
• Manage production container environments and orchestration platforms
• Improve platform resilience through high-availability design and automation
• Implement monitoring, metrics and alerting across infrastructure and services
• Diagnose complex issues across applications, operating systems, networks and hardware
• Work with application, network and data centre teams to resolve platform issues
• Support occasional hands-on activities within the data centre

What we are looking for

• Strong Linux systems engineering or administration experience
• Experience with Debian, Ubuntu or other Debian-based distributions
• Hands-on experience with Ansible, Terraform or similar automation tooling
• Scripting or programming experience in Python, Bash or a comparable language
• Experience supporting physical servers and virtualised infrastructure
• Production experience with Docker, Kubernetes or another container platform
• Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and configuration management
• Knowledge of high-availability infrastructure and fault-tolerant systems
• Ability to troubleshoot across operating systems, hardware and networks
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS and general network troubleshooting

Additional experience with Prometheus, load balancers, databases, messaging platforms, server hardware or network equipment would be beneficial.

Suitable candidates may come from Linux Platform Engineering, Systems Engineering, Infrastructure Automation, Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps backgrounds with strong infrastructure and operating system experience.
