Job Summary
The Company Accountant manages financial records, ensures compliance with accounting standards and regulations, prepares financial reports, and supports management with financial analysis and budgeting to maintain the company’s financial health and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger accounts to ensure reliable financial data.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to support transparent reporting.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable to maintain effective cash flow.
- Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow to ensure financial accuracy and liquidity.
- Process payroll and ensure timely payment of salaries and statutory contributions to comply with regulations.
- Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with applicable tax laws to meet statutory requirements.
- Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning to support strategic decision-making.
- Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities to improve financial efficiency.
- Conduct month-end and year-end closing activities to finalize financial records.
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits to facilitate compliance verification.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and legal regulations to uphold governance.
- Prepare financial and management reports to inform leadership decisions.
- Support internal controls and recommend process improvements to enhance financial operations.
- Handle other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned to support business needs.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Minimum of 1–5 years of accounting experience.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
