Job Summary
The Senior Purchasing Executive is responsible for managing procurement activities for the Central Kitchen, ensuring the timely supply of materials, maintaining supplier relationships, controlling purchasing costs, and supporting smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize sourcing, cost efficiency, and supply chain performance.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, quality products, and favourable commercial terms.
- Plan and manage purchasing activities to ensure timely procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, kitchen equipment, and other operational supplies.
- Monitor inventory levels, forecast purchasing requirements, and coordinate with the Production and Warehouse teams to prevent stock shortages or excess inventory.
- Liaise with Production, Operations, and relevant departments to understand purchasing requirements and ensure the timely availability of materials.
- Conduct market research and monitor supplier performance, pricing trends, and new product opportunities.
- Prepare, review, and manage Purchase Orders (POs), supplier quotations, contracts, and procurement records.
- Manage the procurement budget, monitor purchasing costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with Company policies, food safety regulations, quality standards, and HALAL requirements.
- Lead, supervise, and coach the Purchasing team, providing guidance, training, and performance support.
- Collaborate with Operations, Finance, Production, Warehouse, and Quality Assurance teams to align procurement activities with business objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes, supplier performance, operational efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Management.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field.
- At least 3 years of purchasing experience, preferably in the F&B or manufacturing industry.
- Fluency in Mandarin (spoken and written) is preferred, as the role requires regular communication with Mandarin-speaking suppliers.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with inventory or ERP systems is an added advantage.
- Able to work independently and under pressure.
Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
