Job Overview

We are looking for a Strategic Sourcing Engineer to support supplier development, sourcing strategy, cost reduction initiatives, and technical collaboration with global vendors within a semiconductor manufacturing environment.

This role will work closely with suppliers, engineering teams, buyers, and global stakeholders across the US and Asia region.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and develop new supplier opportunities across mechanical and electrical commodities
• Support existing suppliers on technical and manufacturing-related issues
• Review mechanical/electrical drawings and specifications with suppliers
• Drive cost reduction, localization, and risk mitigation projects
• Conduct supplier assessments, audits, onboarding, and performance reviews
• Collaborate with engineering and purchasing teams on supplier qualification and manufacturing improvements
• Support sourcing projects related to machining, sheet metal, cable & harness, PCBA, and electromechanical components
• Participate in design reviews and supplier technical discussions

Requirements

• Degree in Electronic/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering preferred (Other Engineering disciplines can be considered with relevant experience)
• The ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings is a must
• Electrical knowledge is advantageous
• Experience in sourcing, supplier engineering, manufacturing, or technical vendor management environment
• Familiar with machining, sheet metal fabrication, assemblies, or electromechanical products
• Good stakeholder management and communication skills
• Able to travel occasionally (approximately once per quarter)
• Advanced Excel skills; ERP/MRP/PLM system knowledge is advantageous
